SchoolExl Partner Programme terms

These are the commercial terms the platform actually applies. They are written in plain language on purpose — if a clause here disagrees with what the system does, the clause is the mistake and we will fix it.

Last updated: 20 August 2026.

1. What these terms cover

They cover the SchoolExl Partner Programme: how you are attributed referrals, what you earn, when it becomes yours, and how you are paid. They do not replace the terms that apply to a SchoolExl account you hold as a student, parent, teacher or school.

2. Applying and activation

Anyone may apply. An application creates a partner record only — it does not create a login and it does not make you a partner. A SchoolExl administrator reviews every application by hand and decides whether to activate it. There is no automatic approval and no service level on the review.

If your application is approved we create your partner login and email the address you applied with, carrying a link for you to set your own PIN. If it is not approved, the system does not send an automatic notification. SchoolExl may decline an application without giving a reason.

3. What earns commission

A commission is recorded when a customer attributed to you pays for a SchoolExl plan or a school licence, and the order is fulfilled. It is calculated on the value of the order, at your rate on the day of the order.

Renewals are included. Every subsequent plan payment that customer makes is commissioned on the same basis for as long as your partner account is active and these terms are unchanged.

4. Your rate and the tier ladder

Every partner starts at 10%. Your rate rises with the total value of orders attributed to you in a single calendar month:

  • Bronze10%. The starting tier. No volume required.
  • Silver15%. From ₹50,000 of attributed order value in one calendar month.
  • Gold20%. From ₹2,00,000 of attributed order value in one calendar month.
  • Platinum25%. From ₹10,00,000 of attributed order value in one calendar month.

The threshold is measured on gross attributed order value, not on the commission you earned. Your best qualifying month sets your tier, the ladder is applied automatically, and a tier you have reached is not reduced in a quieter month. Where SchoolExl has agreed a specific rate with you, that agreed rate applies and the ladder does not.

5. Sub-partner override

Active partners receive an invite link. A partner who joins through it is recorded as yours, and you earn a 5% override on the value of their commissioned orders, in addition to what they earn. The override is a single level deep: partners recruited by your sub-partners do not earn you anything.

6. What does not earn commission

  • AI minute top-ups. Recharges of voice and video minutes are not plan sales.
  • The ₹30 Topper Day Pass. It is only sold to students already on an active paid plan, so it cannot be an acquisition.
  • Your own purchases. An order bought by you, bought for or by a child linked to your account, or a school licence for a school you administer, earns you nothing.
  • Orders that are not fulfilled, and orders that are later refunded (see clause 9).

7. Attribution

Attribution is last click within 30 days. When someone opens your link, your partner code is stored in their browser with the time it was stored. If they create a SchoolExl account within 30 days, they are attributed to you; after that the code has expired. If they open another partner’s link after yours and before signing up, that partner is attributed instead.

Attribution is fixed at account creation, not at payment, and it does not transfer afterwards. If attribution cannot be read at sign-up — because the visitor cleared their browser, changed device, or blocked storage — the sign-up is attributed to no one.

7a. What we record about a click

A click on your link is logged against your partner account with the time, the link it came from, any UTM tags on that link, an anonymous session id, and a one-way salted hash of the visitor’s IP address and browser string — we do not store the address itself. Those records are what the click and conversion counts in your portal are built from.

We do not state a retention period for them, because we do not currently operate one. If SchoolExl adopts a deletion schedule it will be published in this clause before it takes effect.

8. The 90-day hold

A recorded commission is held for 90 days from the order being fulfilled. During the hold it is visible in your portal but is not withdrawable. After the hold it matures into your wallet as available balance.

9. Refunds and clawback

If an order is refunded, the commission on it is reversed. A commission still inside its hold is cancelled outright; one that has already matured or been paid is recovered as a corresponding deduction from your wallet. Where a refund is partial, the reversal is pro-rata. The sub-partner override on a reversed order is reversed with it.

10. Payouts, tax and PAN

Before any payout you must have a verified KYC record including your PAN, and a verified bank account. The minimum withdrawal is ₹500 from your available balance.

10% TDS is withheld from every payout, as required in India, and the net amount is transferred. We will not process a payout without a PAN on your account: tax withheld against an unknown deductee cannot be credited to you, so we stop before the deduction rather than deduct and hope.

Payouts are made by manual bank transfer to your verified account. They are not automated: one SchoolExl administrator approves the request and a different one records the transfer, which cannot be marked paid without the bank settlement reference. We do not publish a guaranteed turnaround. The status of every request is visible in your portal throughout.

11. Suspension and closure

SchoolExl may suspend a partner account. A suspended account cannot sign in, its links stop earning commission on new orders, and it cannot request a payout. A reason is recorded against the account.

What happens to a suspended partner’s unpaid balance depends on why the account was suspended. The rules governing that will be set out in the partner conduct rules, which are not published yet — see clause 13.

12. Changes to the programme

SchoolExl may change commission rates, tiers, thresholds, hold periods, minimums and these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new date. A commission that has already been recorded keeps the rate it was recorded at.

13. Partner conduct rules

This clause has no content yet, and that is deliberate.

Not yet published

The rules covering how partners may and may not promote SchoolExl — the claims you can make on our behalf, which channels and methods are acceptable, what counts as misuse of the programme, and what happens to unpaid balances when a rule is broken — have not been written. SchoolExl is deciding them and will publish them in this clause.

Nothing in this box is policy. There is no draft here, no interim rule, and nothing in this clause is in force. Equally, the absence of a published rule is not permission: applicable law, and the terms of any platform you promote on, still apply to you.

When the conduct rules are published they will appear here with their own effective date, and active partners will be told before they take effect.

14. Questions and disputes

If you believe a commission or a payout is wrong, raise it from the Disputes screen in your partner portal so it is recorded against the right records. For anything about the programme itself, contact the SchoolExl team through the address you applied with.
